The Austin Coffeys recently traveled to historic Fort Worth and officially sealed Emelia's adoption. Texas law required us to wait six months before making the little monkey's adoption legally recognized. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Grandma and Grandpa from St. Louis, Granny from Philadelphia and relatives from Kansas City and Chicago all made the trip to make Emelia's Adoption Finalization Fiesta a huge success.
The courtroom was decorated with balloons and stuffed animals and the judge was amazing. He avoided speaking "legaleeze" and made everyone feel truly comfortable, which only added to the celebratory aura in the air.

To top it off, our awesome friends, Matt and Crystal, invited everyone to their home and prepared a great dinner. We can't thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality.

What's next for the little one? We hope rolling over and crawling soon. We are working on it every day and she's showing good progress. Emelia Claire is growing like a weed. She weighed in at 20.5 pounds at her six month check up. She's constantly smiling and she loves, loves, loves playing with her toys and reading books.
