A big Texas "howdy" to all of you!
This journey of ours really seems to be picking up the pace. The adoption agency in Ft. Worth has officially received our first big mailer, including medical forms, background checks, statements of faith....and one BIG cashier's check.
The good news is: we were able to use a lot of the documents that we had originally intended to be put toward the international adoption. This saved us an extraordinary amount of time. We're talking weeks and weeks, people!
Kelly and I also are also developing a friendship with another young couple going through their own adoption adventure. They live in Lakeway and we spent last Saturday hanging out with them at a local dog park, followed by lunch at a south Austin establishment known for their good burgers and tee-shirts-with-funny-sayings wait staff.
This process is far from over, but something about it makes us feel like it's really moving along at the perfect pace.
